    Leveraging Your LinkedIn Profile to the Max

    So, what do you understand about your LinkedIn profile? You understand that it is pretty important for you to have a LinkedIn profile but are you absolutely certain about why it is so important and about how much you can actually do with LinkedIn to bring your business to the next level.

    Leveraging your LinkedIn profile to get the most out of it

    There are so many things that you can do with your LinkedIn profile and you can really leverage LinkedIn's many useful features to advance your business and to grow your business connections. LinkedIn has so much more to offer than simply allowing you to post status updates, your promotions, and to share articles with your LinkedIn connections.

    It is the most effective, powerful, amazing social media channel for professionals and it is universal. However, when it comes to your profile, nobody is telling you that you need to stick with a profile that only has your resume and one or two other inane facts about you posted. There is a great deal more that you can do and it is high time that you start doing it.

    Bringing your LinkedIn profile from Point A to an astounding Point B

    You should definitely think about your LinkedIn profile as a marketing tool that allows other people online to really learn interesting things about you and about your business. In fact, not only are your online connections going to learn interesting things about you and your business but they will also learn things that will compel them to want to build a relationship with you and to tell their friends and other colleagues about what you are doing and what you are offering. It is truly a "win-win" situation.

    If you do it right, your LinkedIn profile will attract the people with whom you will potentially do serious business in the future. Of course, it goes without saying that your profile should be anything but ordinary. Also, your LinkedIn profile must have a great deal of thought behind it and it must really make an impression on other people.

    There are many different things that you can do to improve your profile and to create it in such a way that it is memorable to other people.

    • Take advantage of brassy headlines: Your LinkedIn headlines really need to grab your reader and hold on tight. It isn't nearly enough to simply state the facts. You need to do it in a way that makes your readers think and makes them want to reach out and build a relationship with you. You must try to think (at all times) out of the box and really stretch your creative wings as much as you can. The reaction that you get from the other people will be well worth the effort. Always make sure to include a little bit of your story in each of your headlines. People will stand up and take notice. Your goal, when it comes to your headlines, is to entice the other people into reading more and more about you and really being interested in what you are saying.

    • Share your story: When it comes to the part of your LinkedIn profile where you are expected to discuss your experience and your expertise, it is a really great idea to share your personal story (in a way that is not too personal but is still interesting and compelling). You should avoid merely listing what you are capable of doing and accomplishing. You should discuss it at length yet do it in an interesting manner. The last thing that you want to happen is for your online connections to get bored and walk away before the end of your story.

    • Discuss examples of other people's experiences: Sharing case studies is a great way to capture the attention of the other person. Case studies are generally interesting and people like to listen to them because they will generally learn something that they can apply to their own situation. It is another way of demonstrating to your readers that you have to capability of solving their problems. Anytime you can share information that has the ability to hold the attention of the other person, you are successfully communicating and that communication will probably lead you to the next step.

    • Integrate different types of media into your LinkedIn profile: There are many different types of media that will work well as an accompaniment to your LinkedIn profile. You can include videos, slide presentations, graphics, etc. Those types of material have tremendous marketing potential but not nearly enough people seem to take advantage of such wonderful, effective tools.


    If you haven't taken a good, long look at your LinkedIn profile lately, it is probably time to do so. In the ever-changing, ever-growing world of fast-paced technology in which you live, it is critical to the success of your business that you keep up and that means that you need to periodically evaluate your social media presence and ensure at all times that you are providing current, relevant information that will be of value to other people and, subsequently, valuable to you and to your business as well. LinkedIn has tremendous capabilities for your business and it can help you to strengthen your communities and use them to your advantage. You may be surprised at how much a top-shelf LinkedIn profile can do for you professionally.
