With so many options and opportunities in the internet industry it is important for you to get clear on where you want to focus your time and energy, always leaving options open for different directions as you learn and start to earn money.
So where do you start? One of the easiest and quickest ways to get started is to do Affiliate Marketing. This is simply promoting other peoples products for a percentage of the sale. The affiliate provides the sales page, everything needed to complete the sale and all customer service. All you have to do is collect your share of the sale. Often the split is fifty percent. Not a bad deal.
What makes this even better is that it is important that you promote something you love. If you are into sports promote a product that represents the sport you love and know the most about. This is called finding your niche. I would have a very hard time promoting golf because I only played it once (nearly causing a divorce between my husband and me). But on the other hand my husband is a very good golfer and loves it, and knows virtually everything about it. That would be a great niche for him to look into to find an affiliate product to promote.
There are many places to find affiliate products, the easiest especially in the beginning is to do a search for free affiliate programs. There are several that have a great selection of affiliate products on every possible subject.
Many promoters of affiliates will show you the website and sales page, the cost of the product, your percentage, how long the affiliate has been on that promoter's site, and many more bits of info on that particular affiliate. It is easy to find an area that would fit your expertise, something like golf for those who love it.
After you find the niche you want to promote and the product that sounds good, purchase the product. You will never know how good or bad the actual product is until you try it. I feel you need that expertise to promote any product, otherwise you are just guessing. You might be surprised at some of the products you buy, most are good...but the bad ones are really bad. You do not want to promote something that would not be proud to associate with.
This is an easy and fun way to get started on the internet. It is free to go to many of these sites, so go and look around and see what products might be in the areas you are interested in, there are hundreds of different niches to choose from.
